The Government of Lesotho has been under heavy criticism for shutting down a private station that is seen to be anti government. But the government has defended its decision citing the current security volatility as the sole purpose of its drastic action on Moafrika FM Radio. For more news, visit: http://www.sabc.co.za/news

I'm on Instagram at http://www.instagram.com/brendanvanson Lesotho is crazy spectacular. It's just one of those countries that suits me. It's full of incredible mountains, and lots of rugged landscape. There's this wild freedom to the country that just grabbed me right away. But, Lesotho is also a challenge; especially as a photographer. There are so many amazing things to see and photograph in the country, but it's a bit of a challenge finding ways to properly photograph them. There's very little tourism infrastructure, and even the roads don't really have places that you can safely pull over to make photos. Still, there is this energy to Lesotho that I really love. It has me back to feeling really good about travel. It has my spirits back up, and has me excited to explore. Leso...

http://shawnvanzyl.com/ http://visitlesotho.travel/ The hidden kingdom of Lesotho holds many wonders, some ancient some new. I have had the pleasure of exploring the baron landscape, experiencing the culture and witnessing the beauty that the country has to offer. Lesotho is the highest country in the world, and is the only country in the world to be landlocked by another, South Africa. Previously known as Basotholand, Lesotho declared independence from the United Kingdom on 4 October 1966. About 40% of the population lives below the international poverty line of ZAR R16.70 / US $1.25 a day. Today, Lesotho is home to amazing spectacles and is growing in tourism, with guests from around the world, exploring the wonders such as the worlds highest commercial abseil at 204m in the South, to...
Initiating boys singing traditional song "LESOTHO: Boys quit school to become men ...boys enrolling at traditional Sotho initiation schools. Starting in July, they usually spend three to four months in the mountains, preparing to be circumcised. After returning, they rarely continue their education, partly because they are culturally viewed as men, but also because they are often indebted to the initiation schools and forced to work to repay them. My brother and I crossed crossed Southern Africa with the BMW R1200 GS... with not much preparation or gear. Our itinerary changed depending on what we saw on the moment or who we talked to on the road. We were really impressed with the bikes... admittedly falling in a love a bit. We fell several times, keeping tally of who was at how many falls. In my calculation my brother ended up with one more fall than me... Lesotho was an incredible country for exploring with a bike, it is mountainous and the roads are still wild. Artists and Songs used throughout the video: L'Amour - Carla Bruni Boondock Saints Theme Song - (The Blood of Cu Chullainn) Freedom 1804 Liberation (Sove Peyi Mwen) Dave Matthews and Tim Raynolds - Out of My Hands (Live at Radio City) B.B.
